About us

The fourth annual Light Up the Night Holiday Parade Party will be Dec. 9, 2017, and will combine two of the Lowcountry’s most beloved traditions — the allure of the harbor and twinkling holiday lights.

banner_paradeofboats1Presented by the historic Rotary Club of Charleston and the City of Charleston, the fourth annual viewing party will be held at the Charleston Maritime Center on Dec. 9 with sounds of the holiday season and captivating holiday lights on boats that will promenade past the viewing docks.

Net proceeds from the event, which we hope eventually will rival holiday boat parades in places like San Diego, San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale, will fund various charitable endeavors and community projects for our club.  (Click here to see who we’ve helped in the last five years.)

Tickets to attend our special Light Up the Night viewing for the parade of boats will be $25 in advance or $30 at the door; children under age 18 are $5.

About the Rotary Club of Charleston

logo_rotaryThe Rotary Club of Charleston, founded in 1920, is the “father” club of more than almost a dozen Rotary clubs in the Charleston area.

As outlined in its club history, “Service Above Self: A History of the Rotary Club of Charleston — 1920-2004,” members of the service organization have been leading the Charleston community for decades.

Today, almost 200 community leaders are members of the local club, which meets every Tuesday for lunch at the Harbour Club downtown.
